Singanalluru Puttaswamayya Muthuraju   is a real name of RAJKUMAR, but onstage he well known as name of Rajkumar. Rajkumar was born on 24 April 1929  24 April 1929 Gajanur, Madras Presidency, British India. He married a 14-year-old Parvathamma Gowda, his cousin, on 25 June 1953 in Nanjangud. They had five children; Three sons Shiva, Raghavendra and Puneeth, and Two daughters Lakshmi and Poornima. He moved to Bangalore in 1972, after he began getting multiple film offers. Rajkumar was 8 when he started his career with his father in the Gubbi Drama Company. Rajkumar, is fondly remembered as Nata Saarvabhouma (Emperor of Actors), Bangarada Manushya (Man of Gold), Vara Nata (Gifted Actor) and Rajanna (Brother Raj) amid the Kannada community and remains an iconic superstar from his time.  He started his film career in 1954 in the film Bedara Kannapa and went on to star in over 220 movies, his last being Shabdavedhi in 2000.
